The way the current school system is designed, many of these public schools in lower income areas receive less funding. People believe that these children do not deserve as much funding as wealthier children, and that they should receive less funding. While many people don’t realize that they are contributing to the system, the fact of the matter is that they are causing the schools to receive less funding.

To me, the best disruptive solution to this problem would be to provide these services for free till politicians and others are forced to act. My proposition is that you, by yourself or with friends and others who share your views, provide these services and make an organization to help these kids. Simply by doing things such as donating old books for easy solutions or volunteering to help with projects such as the one that I participated in would make a large change. Especially with more people volunteering, where large scale change can be made. Using the many free resources that are available, it would be possible to furnish and develop many new programs for these schools to be a part of.

The ideal version of this would be to have a national group of volunteers who provide services such as gardening to schools free of charge. Based on volunteers, having a national organization would force people to realize the gravity of the situation and would make them want to change the system.

Not only would this allow you to get closer to the friends and volunteers that you work with, but also the children at these schools. Doing so would allow their voices to reach a much larger scale and put pressure on others to also make change and prevent people from looking away from this issue. In terms of addressing the issue, doing so would help school manage costs while increasing the quality of education for these poorer students. This would allow them to go further in education, get higher-paying jobs, and escape the chain of poverty that plagues the nation.

I am excited about this proposal because I think that it is one that is very feasible and fun. You are given the chance to put in as much work as you would like to, an d the more that you do, the more interesting it is. Even if you do not know how to do something, participating in projects such as this would be very informative and a great way to help others and learn new things. It could also be a good workout depending on how you choose to implement it. The biggest advantage of this proposal is definitely the commitment aspect. Being able to put in as much work as you want means that you are also able to go as far with it as you want. The interpretation is so broad that you can do what you want. There are many services that can be provided, from something as small as donating old books to building a full-scale library, etc. The options are many and the experience invaluable, so I am really excited for this project. I really hope that it takes off and reaches my ideal, as I think it would help the issue greatly.
